A Holistic Approach to Women’s Health: A Mindset, Mood and Movement Podcast Interview

I was lucky enough to join Sal Jeffries on his podcast, Mindset. Mood and Movement, to discuss women’s health and wellness and a unique, holistic approach to the challenges women face today. Sal and I are both passionate about optimal health, but we’re even more interested in giving people the right information about their bodies so they can make informed decisions so they can advocate for themselves and live their best life. We are also both dedicated to our podcasts for women’s health. We emphasize that a woman’s true well-being does not just derive from her physical health, but also her mental, emotional and social health as well; all of it multifaceted and interconnected. Through that lens, listeners will be able to both better understand and address the root causes of issues in women’s well-being. For example, we delve into the intersection between hormone imbalance in women, diet and exercise, and personal experience (both traumatic and empowering), highlighting the need for an integrative approach to treating mental health.

We also further break down the different phases of the menstrual cycle as a vital sign, explaining how each phase – menstruation, follicular, ovulation and luteal – influences energy levels, moods and nutritional needs. By tuning into these cyclical changes and listening to their bodies, women can better navigate their own well-being and make informed choices about self-care. And for the formal,

However, as an unfortunate byproduct of today’s heavily politicized world, our discussion about women’s health inevitably turns to government policies. We shed light on the alarming state of women’s health in the United States, specifically the worsening maternal health crisis, with Black and Brown communities disproportionately affected. We stress the need for empowering individuals with knowledge and advocating for systemic changes to community health and wellness, especially in regards to racial and gender disparities

Throughout the episode, you’ll note my passion for empowering women through education, breaking down stigmas and addressing the fear, shame and unconscious biases that often accompany women’s health. By replacing these negative emotions with a sense of being heard and seen, I aim to create a ripple effect of positive, transformative change.

This episode is a must-listen for anyone interested in improving their own health or advocating for women’s wellness. But don’t just take my word for it. Tune in and discover it for yourself!
